The week between Christmas and New Years tends to be an incredibly productive week for me. I do a lot of planning and evaluating during this week.
It's also when I choose my word for the upcoming year.
I gave up on resolutions a long time ago.
But I like to choose a word that encapsulates an idea or a concept... a way to help me grow personally and to help me grow my business as well.
This year, my word is COMMUNITY.
On the surface that might not seem like a word that's meant to be a catalyst for change.
But I'm a very independent-minded individual. And an introvert to boot. I grew up without a lot of roots, moving every few years, and separated from extended family. So, community is sort of a novel concept for me. And a little intimidating.
But I've also come to learn over the years, the last few particularly, that you can't do everything yourself.
Asking for help is hard. Opening yourself up to others is hard.
So, this is going to be an interesting year for me, but I look forward to the growth and expansion that will come from being willing to seek out and build community in my personal life and I'm especially excited to see how Southern Soil can grow when I am willing to step back and invite others into that space!
Let’s grow together!
